This Sunday the Eagles face off against the Rams in a highly anticipated game. Each team led by their sophomore quarterback are looking to keep their winning seasons going as they battle head to head.
Jared Goff is the quarterback for the Rams and has led the Rams to an incredible nine and three season after going a dismal four and twelve the year prior. Goff, who was the number one pick in last year’s draft, was being called a bust all year as he threw for five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has turned things around and has turned the lowest scoring offense last year into the highest scoring offense this year. He is beginning to look like the number one pick the Rams hoped he would be.
Wentz on the other hand was picked right after Goff as the number two pick in the draft. Wentz’s play last year made Goff seem like more of a bust as he had the much better year than the higher pick. Wentz has continued his dominant play into his sophomore campaign and is high in the MVP discussion.
This game is an important one as this is the first time these two quarterbacks have faced off against one another. Wentz will want to continue his MVP season as he shows that the Rams made a mistake skipping on him. While Goff will want to prove that he was the clear number one pick over Wentz.
These two super powered offenses will put on a show as there in no lack of offensive talent. With the Rams playing at home they will want to defend their turf as well as keep a game ahead on the Seahawks. They want to prove that this season is no fluke and that they can beat great teams as well.
With the Eagles already clinching the playoffs, they do not have much to lose but will still come with their all against this mighty Rams team. With both Jay Ajayi and LaGarette Blount in their backfield, the Rams will have a tough time slowing down their run game.
This game will be a thriller and I don’t expect anything less than action packed football. This game might be in the regular season, but there is a chance that these two teams will meet again the playoffs. This could be an amazing preview of an even better game to come.
